A region full of tradition in the heart of Europe the Palatinate lent its name to Palatia malt. The company was founded in 1899 as a flour mill and was soon transformed into a malt house. The formula for success of the family-managed enterprise, now in its third generation, has remained the same up to this day: wholehearted malting tradition and production that always uses the most modern methods to guarantee the outstanding brewing quality of Palatia malts.

MALZFABRIK HOEPFNER

Over 200 years of company history sets the tone for one of the most successful and oldest company in the region of Baden. In 1798 Pastor Friedrich Hoepfner purchased a parcel of land in Liedolsheim near Karlsruhe to begin operating a small brewery and malt house. Today, under family management in the sixth generation, the successful continuation of this old brewing tradition is documented by modern, computer-controlled plants for malt and beer production.

BESTMALZ

In 2001 the two companies decided to market their quality malt together in order to better meet the increasing demands of their customers. BESTMALZ was founded. The founding companies remain independent.
